Summer Picnic

This is how we spent the international picnic day. It was so much fun to be in the nature again. Now that we are back home from the city, I can really apreciate having the garden and the forests and lakes around. It feels good especially in this heat. It's been so hot here lately. Not complaining hahah. I love the hot weather. I love hot summer evenings and nights. But to be in the countryside in the summer it's the best. Barbecues and picnics, strawberies, cherries and ice cream, evening walks in shorts, this is what i've been looking forward to the whole winter and now it's here. I'm enjoying every second of it, my only worry is that it's going to pass too fast. I'm trying to look at it this way, the summer holiday hasn't even started yet ;) so we've still got two good months of summer ahead of us. Have a beautiful week everyone!

Flowers, flowers everywhere

Today I had a little stroll around the city and I couldn't help but noticing there are so many beautiful flowers around now. I recently visited my favourite flower shop in the city and their selection at the moment is amazing as well. So much so I am thinking about reinventing my garden again. Flowers always make me happy. Not the cut ones but the ones that are in the garden and blossoming happily.
Today is a day off here in France, a public holiday known as Ascension. It is a Christian holiday symbolizing the bodily Ascension of Jesus into heaven. The French families usually take advantage of this prolonged weekend and most people take the Friday of as well to make it a four day weekend to travel somewhere. The city is pretty empty at this time and you won't meet many people shopping either. The weather has been just beautiful and I really can't get enough of the sun and all the flowers around! Have a lovely rest of the week people!

Let the sunshine in

I've been loving the weather here recently. The last couple of days felt more like the summer. I decided to plant some roses and hydrangea in my garden and spent a lot of time on the sun finally!
I've even started to plan the summer holidays, this weather put me in such a summer mood.
Iwas finally able to take out all my summer clothes from the bottom of my closet and start wearing skirts and denim jackets. I mean I know it's only March and the weather can still turn and become very cold and rainy but at least for now it's sunny and warm oh so warm. 20C this afternoon! Would you even believe it?

I can't wait for the summer to be here. I love those summer evenings when it's hot and I can just run around the house barefoot and I can smell the flowers through the open windows...

Now it's time for a bath and an evening of watching Ice Age :) . Ofcourse when my little one goes to bed it will be a time for a more adult movie. I'm thinking a thriller probably. Secret In Their Eyes sounds good. I love anything with Nicole Kidman in it. It will be a Netflix evening that's for sure.
Happy Saturday to you all!
