Flowers, flowers everywhere

Today I had a little stroll around the city and I couldn't help but noticing there are so many beautiful flowers around now. I recently visited my favourite flower shop in the city and their selection at the moment is amazing as well. So much so I am thinking about reinventing my garden again. Flowers always make me happy. Not the cut ones but the ones that are in the garden and blossoming happily.
Today is a day off here in France, a public holiday known as Ascension. It is a Christian holiday symbolizing the bodily Ascension of Jesus into heaven. The French families usually take advantage of this prolonged weekend and most people take the Friday of as well to make it a four day weekend to travel somewhere. The city is pretty empty at this time and you won't meet many people shopping either. The weather has been just beautiful and I really can't get enough of the sun and all the flowers around! Have a lovely rest of the week people!

Bohemian vibes

LOVELAND ~ A far off land where the dusty roads echo the zeitgeist of the 1960s, revolution is in the air and love is in the hearts of the forever young.
Thinking about the summer and the hot days ahead I have have been in a very bohemian style mood lately. I am obsessed with long flowy dresses, colorful jewellery and vibrant patterns.

I have discovered a cute Australian based company called Spell & the Gypsy (where have I been right?) and I absolutely love the style of their flowy dresses, romantic skirts and tops and bohemian look in general. It reminded me of a dress I had before by Arnhem and funnily enough they are all made in the same place in Byron Bay Australia. So if you've been looking for some beautiful romantic dress for the summer look no more.

I have found this beautiful jewellery maker from France who makes amazing bohemian pieces. They are called Rose KafĂ© and they are based in Marseille. Their jewellery is unique and so beautiful made of silver sometimes gold plated and using semi precious stones. It just goes so well with the romantic gypsy style dresses.

Another great thing to do in France that is kind of bohemian ;) is to go to Brocante or Vide grenier which is basicaly a thrift sale or a car boot sale. You can find real jewels here if you look hard enough. I attended 2 in the past 2 weeks, I will share with you what I bought next time.
Have a wonderful weekend lovely people!

Fashion for the little ones

My new obsession is a website that sells beautiful and creative clothes for children. I like to dress my little love in a bunny hat or as a baby deer. We have so much fun with the face paint as well. He loves looking at me with a bunny face on too. I wish he knew how cute he looks. He was quite surprised when he looked in the mirror at himself :) .

The website is called smallable.com and it seels everything from baby clothes to home decor. The best thing though is that it ships everywhere around the world for a very reasonable price and gives you the price in your currency too.

Bohemian jewellery

I love all the bohemian fashion, the dresses and the patterns but my favourite is the jewellery. Here in town there is a cute little French shop which sells all kinds of amazing hand made bohemian jewellery. You can find some real French jewels here.

I've always been interested in different kinds of gemstones and healing and energy that they give.
I use them in diferent times in my life, to cope with emotions, illness or stress.

For example Moonstone - it is said if you give your lover a moonstone necklace when the moon is full you will always have passion with each other. Moonstone is a very personal stone. It is a reflection of the person who owns it. It does not add or detract, only shows how it is. This is why the moonstone is said to perceive that which "is".
Healing properties unique to moonstone are its lunar energy and it talent to balance emotional upsets. Moonstone has a gentle energy (sometimes referred to as feminine or mothering energy) that helps to ease stresses and feelings of anxiousness. It can be used to enhance intuition. Moonstone is a good crystal tool for anyone who wishes to reflect on past circumstances to learn life lessons from.

Rose Quartz  has a gentle energy. It is a heart healer of physical heart ailments as well as emotional heartbreaks. Rose quartz is a timely gift to offer someone who desires to learn self-love. You couldn't ask for a more loving teacher.

Jade  teaches acceptance. Carries serene and calming energy. It helps a person become less critical of self and others.

Lapis Lazuli  has an Egyptian energy. Lapis is a stone that has been said to unlock mysteries as it helps one move through confusion and emotional blocks and dig through fog/muck to the root of problematic issues.

Amethyst is highly spiritual/healing stone and is associated with The Christ Consciousness and helps one tune into ahigher awareness of knowing.

Turquoise stone is an advisor of the highest order, little wonder that it was a revered as a spiritual stone by Native Americans. This stone can be used to help one learn spiritual lessons through meditation and/or dream visions.

Saphire in Hebrew lore, King Solomon and Abraham both wore talismans of Sapphire, and the Law given to Moses on the Mount was said to be engraved on tablets of Sapphire. The Greeks wore it for wisdom at Delphi when seeking answers from the Oracle at Apollo’s Shrine. Buddhists believed it brought devotion and spiritual enlightenment, and the Hindus considered Sapphire as one of the “great gems” used in offerings in the temples for worship and to align astrological influences. In Christianity it was used in ecclesiastical rings, and was cherished by kings and nobility for its powers of protection and insight. [Kunz, 104, 241][Mella, 103][Eason, 247][Fernie, 96, 102-103]
As a talisman, Sapphire was thought to preserve chastity, discover fraud and treachery, protect its wearer from poison, plague, fever and skin diseases, and had great power in resisting black magic and ill-wishing. It healed ailments of the eyes, increased concentration, and would lose luster if worn by an intemperate or impious person. [www.sacred-texts.com]
Today Sapphire is still a Stone of Wisdom, a royal stone of learning, mental acuity and psychic activation, a seeker after spiritual truth. Its pure Blue Ray brings order and healing to the mind, lending strength and focus, and an ability to see beneath surface appearances to underlying truths and to utilize that knowledge. It stimulates the Throat and Third Eye Chakras, allowing one to access deeper levels of consciousness in order to gain a fuller understanding of self. Associated with the planet Saturn, Blue Sapphire embraces order, structure, and self-discipline, and is ideal for accomplishing goals and manifesting ideas into form. Sapphire’s power to transmute negative thoughts and energy also makes it highly effective for earth and chakra healing.

Hematite is a grounding stone. This silver-gray metallic gemstone is often used as a grounding tool to aid those who tend to avoid worldly tasks/events by out-of-body flight. I will slip one in my pocket if I know I'm going to be placed in a trying situation such as a job interview, a funeral, or courtroom dealings. Hematite helps me be comfortable in my body when I'd rather escape.

Kyanite is best worn near the throat chakra. This blue crystal helps facilitate channeling and will open communications centers to enable contact with your guides and angels. Kyanite is probably best known for its balancing properties that align the chakras. There is no need to cleanse this stone, it clears itself automatically of negative energies.

Citrine is a wonderful yellow colored stone to carry with you. It helps to manifest your goals. This energizing crystal also keeps one cheerful because it is filled with empowering solar energy. It attracts abundance and personal power. Energetic-wise, it is comparable to the yellow topaz.
