Freezing here!

I guess nobody likes politics as much as French do. That's why the tension in this country is high at the moment and the discussions are neverending. I must be the only person in the city who doesn't discuss politics couple of times a day. Or at least I feel like it. So the tension is growing and the faces of the candidates are coming out of everywhere. For this reason I stopped watching the TV and I am mostly watching my favorite series and you tube. I am so bored of hearing about politics. The weather doesn't help either it got soooo freaking cold here. Last night it was back to -2 Celsius. Can you believe it? Today we had snow in the yard in the morning! Poor flowers.. I don't even want to think about what does it mean for the fruits this year. Today I felt like taking out my gloves again, my hands were so cold when i was taking Micho for his morning walk.

It was deffinitely a time for a hat and gloves this morning and it's not finished! It doesn't look like spring outside it looks more like rainy autumnal weather with fog. Yesterday it was snowing. It's almost May how can it be so cold? I can't feel my fingers as I'm writing this. I had a little trim of the hair and I went for a shopping trip to Nancy with my mom. All in all it turned out good and I got this jacket in ZARA and a hat in H&M. What do you think? Deffinitely need them now! I can't believe three weeks ago I was wearing shorts and even got a tan. It seems like a very far memory now. I hope May will be warm and suny. I have a feeling it will be a good month! Have a nice week my friends.

Easter time

My week so far has been full of family visits and tiding up before the Easter. A lot of time spent with Alexis <3 . Every day is preciouss as he gets so big so fast.

Finally might get some time to go to the cinema. Any suggestions on what's good right now?
I am partial between London House and Baby Boss, not much choice of movies in English  in a small town in France hihi. We might have to drive all the way to Nancy!?
Another project for this week, choosing the final touches on the summer holiday. This year it's going to be Croatia and Switzerland.
Have a beautiful Easter everyone!

Early mornings

Recently I've been waking up really early. It's hard not to get excited about life when you are woken up by the sunshine and it looks like an explosion of flowers outside. This year's spring has been amazing. I've started to even enjoy waking up early and it gives me more time to have cuddle mornings with the baby and long breakfast. Even Micho is really happy about his longer morning walks.

Another bonus is a beautiful sunrise which I would miss if I slept in and it's just comforting to have this time of the day, when not many people are up yet or on the streets.I somehow feel closer to nature at this time of the day, before all the noise starts that humans create. This week I am starting a spring cleaning of the house, half an hour every day should do it. I am starting to plan my summer holiday. I will share my destination with you soon. Have a beautiful week everyone!

Sundays are for resting

Sundays are always my special days for relaxing and doing nothing. It's easy in France because the French take the Sunday's rest very serioussly and you won't find any shops or supermarkets open except the small food shops and even those open only until noon. That's why the Sunday afternoon in France is like a different world. The streets are quiet and empty and everybody's at home eating their home cooked lunch. When I first moved to France I found this a bit odd and I couldn't get used to the fact that I could't buy anything on Sundays. Especially after living for so long in London where all the shops are open all the time, even on Sundays! Now I've gotten used to it and I even enjoy it. I enjoy the peace and quiet and the fact that all the people can enjoy their Sunday afternoon with their family. French employees are particulary grumpy,  so if this makes them happier and maybe makes them even smile (which is rare haha)  then i'm all for it.

If you are thinking about going to a coffee shop on Sunday too bad as well, all closed. I am still getting used to the fact that you can't go to a restaurant in France and eat whenever you want. French restaurants are open only at certain times and if you are hungry at the wrong time too bad for you. As I learnt though, the French people never get hungry at the wrong time.

I  enjoy preparing the lunch on Sunday and having a peaceful family time. One of my little traditions on  Sundays is having a big home made breakfast like french toast or pancakes. In the afternoon I usually do some baking. I sometimes make a strudel with apples and cinnamon or poppy seeds or pain au chocolat. Then of course we have to go for a looong walk to burn all the calories haha.Have a beautiful spring Sunday my friends!

Spring blossom in Vosges

The spring has fully arrived here. I feel very excited about this especially because it's almost one month earlier than last year. All the magnolia trees and cherry trees are gorgeously pink. It makes me feel happy every time I look out the window. The horses looked happy today as well. I think they enjoyed the sunshine on their backs just as much as I did this afternoon. We had a nice long walk with Micho around the neighbourhood and I couldn't help admiring all the blossom everywhere around. My friend just sent me a snowy picture from Finland so I guess we are lucky here in France. Is it spring already where you are? Have a lovely weekend my friends!
