All about hair

Or all about my hair... In general I like to use natural products rather than to use too many chemicals on my hair and skin. These are some products though that I have been using for years. Coconut oil spray by Ogx, I use it on my ends when they are dry or when I have to use heat. In general I find the organic coconut oil works the same. Phyto Volume by Phyto Paris, I use this product ocassionaly for volume as my hair tends to get very flat and lacks volume.  I also love Kerastase Elixir Ultime and Ojon one of my favorite brands as well, my favorite from Ojon is the oil Damage Reverse which I ran out of, it is my absolute favourite together with the Crabtree & Evelyn Jojoba oil, they always save my dry ends. I also like to use them for the scalp massage.

I purchased this Shu Uemura Essence Absolu, following the advice of my hairdresser, but I find it makes my hair a bit too greasy as my hair is so thin and flat already, so if you have hair like mine which is not very thick and voluminous, I would not reccomend this oil at all. I avoid hair sprays as much as I can but if I absolutely have to use it, then I use Elnett by L'Oreal but I honestly use so little of it that this small bottle has lasted me more than two years.

Since I stopped coloring my hair I have tried to use all kinds of shampoos for the revival of the color. I just got these new products by Schwarzkopf so I'll let you know if they work ,also if you have any ideas about the good shampoo for blondes let me know!

My morning routine

I really enjoy my mornings and the routine that I got used to. The first thing that I do when I wake up is to cuddle Micho and give him lot's of kisses. Then I make the bed and slip in my comfortabe slippers and robe.

After that I brush my teeth and wash my face and moisturize with some almond baby oil. This is about the time that Alex wakes up and I can hear him crying for me. I give him lots of kisses and play with him a little and then we go down to the kitchen where I prepare his breakfast. I feed him and dress him and then I prepare my breakfast which is usually some rye bread with chocolate or cereal and a hot water with lemon and some stevia. I have a coffee later although it's usually a decaf. I check my email and read the news while I eat my breakfast and Alex plays with his toys. Micho usually likes to go in the garden for couple of minutes ( for his morning routine too haha but he doesn't go for a walk till later in the afternoon.) Then I get all the work emails done and I get dressed and put some make up on (or not depends on my mood and the day) and we go outside to play. Some days I go completely without make up although if I go to the city I usually put on a mascara at least. We usually spend the late morning playing in the garden on my days off. I love those days with him.

Beauty

Comparison is a thief of joy. That's one of my favourite quotes ever. Everyone is different and unique. No one is you, that is your power, my dad used to say to me when i was little and it's so true. You can't bring more to this world than your own uniqueness. It's a thing to embrace and be proud of.
Uniqueness is something to celebrate we are all different and that's what makes this world beautiful. Be yourself and embrace that you are different, that you have a different body shape or hair color or skin color. How boring would this world be if we were all the same. You are rare and beautiful and definitely not worthy of comparison. A flower does not think of competing with a flower next to it, it just blooms...

Sunny Sunday

I've been so sick with the flu recently, I wasn't even able to get out of bed on Friday too sick to go out almost the whole weekend. I hate those flu days when you're just lying with temperature in bed unable to do anything active at all. I couldn't even write or read it was that bad. Spent a good three days in pajamas with no make up on. The weather was so gloomy here the last month, but just as I got sick it warmed up and started to be really nice and sunny. So typical.  I am really ready for spring now and the warm weather. Today I was determined to finally go outside.I started the day with the big breakfast French style some pains au chocolat and coffee.

It was sunny and it felt like spring. Everything is starting to smell good and alive, the grass, the flowers... the nature is waking up I love this smell.

Even Micho enjoyed finally to be able to lie on the grass and catch some rays of sunshine ( he loves doing that). Let's hope spring is coming soon. I hope you all had a beautiful Sunday wherever you are.

Valentine's week

Hello everyone, I hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day. Whether you were alone or with the loved one. I decided to do a Valentine's week this time and think about treating myself and others around me every day of this week. Coffee, flowers and chocolates just belong to this holiday so had plenty of it.  It is indeed a special day although we should not limit our love only to one day and try to be thankful and appreciative of the other every day.

I had a great time and was busy with all the preparations.
It is probably because of the fact that there's also a Birthday celebration connected to this date for me so it is not just about Valetine's but Birthday too :) . I made a gluten free chocolate cake and it's been a really fun couple of days with a lot of take out food and movies too. It was the first sunny day here after weeks! and the temperature went up to 15C I almost couldn't believe it.
Hope you had a great time with the ones you love! <3

Children's room

I've enjoyed creating this space more than any other room. A tranquil happy place to play and sleep and feel uplifted even on a rainy day. I have created the paintings with this in mind. Some of them can also be found on lucianasusko.com .As I mentioned before I love the wooden toys made in Europe some of my favorites are Vilac and Foulon made in France.

I also love the magic lamp or lanterne magique as they call in France, the lamp that turns and creates fairy tale pictures on the walls. My favorite one is the one with Little Prince theme.

City pretty Besançon

This weekend I had to go for a quick trip to Besançon.Very pretty town in the region of Franche-Comté. Although it was more for business, visiting this beautiful city is always a pleasure. The eye pleasing architecture and the cute shops and coffee shops everywhere, make a really nice atmosphere. The city is surrounded by the hills and has a beautiful citadel. The fact that the city is on the river Doubs, makes it even prettier. I didn't have much time for visiting as I was in a hurry this time but I took some pictures on the way.

I recently became a vegetarian, well technically not completely, as I still eat fish. I want animals to be treated right but that's for a whole another topic. I always find it challenging to find food on the go for vegetarians in France. I usually just go with the quiche option. If you have any suggestions or interesting recipes please let me know!

The food everywhere in France is usually really deliciouss because of the cheese oh yes the cheese :) that is soo good.

My favourite shop in the city must be this cute little jewellery shop called Nubia which sell all kinds of original bohemian pieces. The trip was successful in the end even though I didn't get to shop much I bought some cute wooden toys which are Made in France by Vilac that I am really happy about. Have a great week everyone!
