Last day of the year

Hello lovelies, today has been a really beautiful cold sunny day here so I thought it was a good idea to take a walk around the lake and think about the old year. It was all pretty and frosted white around.
Tonight a dinner with some friends in a typical French fashion and a party until midnight. Have a lovely New Year's Eve everybody and I'l see you in 2017!

Frozen

     Let it go..let it go....ok it has been freezing here since last night, but still no snow. I've been wishing for snow since I put up the Christmas decorations. Last night it was so icy though, we couldn't even go out for our evening walk with Micho. He was just sliding down the hill when he tried to run to me, poor thing. His paws were so cold he was ready to go home after five minutes. Is it freezing where you are?

Mrzne od minulej noci, ale snehu stale niet. Uz od kedy som vesala vianocne vyzdoby, snivam o snehu.  Minulu noc ale tak mrzlo, ze sme ani nemohli ist s Michom na nasu vecernu prechadzku. Ked sa ku mne rozbehol, smykal sa dole kopcom, chuda. Mrzli mu packy a po piatich minutach chcel ist domov. Mrzne aj u vas?

French supermarkets

Ok so I've been doing some more food shopping over the holidays and guess what I've found.. 

horse meat, alligator meat , cangaroo meat, the zebra steak...

Being a big animal lover I must say I have always been very shocked by how much meat the French eat and now I am completely repulsed by the fact that there is no line for the supermarkets. In UK they ended the sale of the meat for both welfare and food safety reasons.

Unfortunately it seems some people are willing to eat literally anything that moves, or moved :(

Som velky milovnik zvierat a musim povedat ze ma vzdy dost sokovalo kolko masa v tejto krajine ludia konzumuju a teraz som doslova znechutena z toho ze hranice tu vlastne v supermarketoch neexistuju.V Anglicku prestali predavat tieto produkty koli zlemu zaobchadzaniu zvierat a zo zdravotnych pricin. Zda sa ze niektori ludia su schopni zjest vsetko co sa hybe, alebo hybalo :(

Winter blues

Do you also suffer from post Christmas blues? You know that feeling when you realize Christmas is over , the beautiful tree is slowly drying out (if you had a real one) and you have to go back to work sometime soon. The New Year's Eve is around the corner though so that's one more thing to be excited about and also to be thankful for everything we have and to plan for the new things we want to achieve in the next year. The new beginning is comming again and that's always something to look forward to.

Sunny winter day

I love sunny winter weather. It reminds me of my childhood spent in the mountains and skiing with my dad. Crispy cold air and sunshine always make me want to go out and be active. Unfortunately this year there's not much snow in France lthough it might still change, fingers crossed. I am still hoping for the good skiing season to come. Today we tried to make the most of the sunny weather and play a little in the playground. Of course Micho came with us and waited quietly by the gate.

Milujem slnecne dni v zime. Pripomina mi to moje detstvo stravene na horach a lyzovanie s mojim ockom. Prenikavo studeny vzduch a slniecko vo mne vzdy vyvolaju chut ist von a byt aktivnou. Tento rok bohuzial vo Francuzsku nie je vela snehu aj ked sa to mozno este zmeni, dufajme. Stale dufam ze dobra lyziarska sezona este len pride. Dnes sme sa snazili vytazit co najviac zo slnecneho pocasia a hrat sa trochu na ihrisku. Samozrejme Micho bol s nami a cakal tisko pri brane.

Christmas songs

One of the things I love the most about this season are the Christmas songs. Usually I like to just turn the radio on and listen to the songs that they play to get myself in the Christmas mood in December, but here in France the Christmas songs are almost non existent on the radio. In general it is really hard to find good music in France on the radio and I had to stock up the car with tons of cds for roadtrips to literally not go crazy from the bad French music. Don't get me wrong France has many good points including good food, good wine, good chocolates... but music is not one of them, unfortunatelly. These are some of the Christmas songs that get me into the festive spirit.

Jedna z veci co mam na tomto obdobi najradsej su vianocne pesnicky. Zvycajne len zapnem radio a pocuvam co hraju a dostanem sa v Decembri do vianocnej nalady, ale tu vo Francuzsku su vianocne pesnicky a koledy v radiu skor raritou. V celku je dost tazke najst vo Francuzsku dobru hudbu v radiu a musela som zasobovat auto cdckami na cesty aby sme sa doslova nezblaznili z toho ze omielaju stale tych istych 10 pesniciek dookola. Nechapte to zle Francuzsko ma vela dobrych stranok vratane dobreho jedla, dobreho vina, dobrej cokolady.... ale hudba nie je jednou z nich,bohuzial. Tu je zopar pesniciek ktore mi hned navodia vianocnu atmosferu.

Skin and hair in the winter

1. Milk Concentrate by L'Occitane, 2. Apricot kernel oil by Melvita, 3. Ultra Doux dry shampoo by Garnier.

In the winter my skin and my hair are extremely dry, that's why I try to use the most gentle products that don't have too many chemicals in them. I realy like using organic oils, or how they call them in France bio huile , they are gentle on my skin and hair, keep it hydrated and smell amazing (a little bit of aromatherapy in the winter is important too) . I personally love the smell of almonds in the winter. These products above satisfy my cravings for sweet almond scent. The Milk Concentrate by L'occitane is the best bodylotion and I even use it as a hand cream it smells amazing and makes my skin so soft even in the winter. The apricot oil is great for taking make up off and it helps prevent and minimize the appearance of wrinkles. I'm not a big fan of dry shampoos, at least I wasn't until I tried this one. Ultra Doux by Garnier works the best for me when I need that fresh feeling.

V zime su moja plet aj vlasy velmi suche, preto sa snazim pouzivat vyrobky s jemnejsim zlozenim, ktore nemaju prilis vela chemikalii. Rada pouzivam bio olejceky, alebo ako ich nazyvaju tu vo Francuzsku bio huile, su jemne na pokozku a vlasy hydratuju a uzastne vonaju ( trocha aromaterapie v zime tiez nezaskodi) . Ja osobne mam v zime rada vonu mandli. Tieto vyrobky moju tuzbu po mandlovej voni uspokojuju. Milk Concentrate od L'Occitane  je to najlepsie telove mlieko a ja ho pouzivam aj ako krem na ruky vonia uzastne a robi pokozku velmi hebkou aj v zime. Marhulovy olej je vyborny na odstranenie mejkapu a pomaha aj proti tvorbe vrasok. Nie som velkym fanusikom suchych samponov, aspon som nebola az pokial som neskusila tento. Ultra Doux od Garniera je pre mna top ked potrebujem osviezit vlasy.

Lounging and Christmas presents

I spent the whole Sunday just watching movies, reading books and playing with Alex and enjoying Christmas presents. I finally had time to start the new book, trying to enjoy the quiet moments in the evenings when the baby is asleep. Also I finally found the time to watch Gilmore Girls again! Best thing to do on dark winter evenings in cozy pajamas and a mug of hot cocoa.

Celu nedelu som presedela na gauci pozerala filmy, citala knihy a hrala sa s Alexom a uzivala si vianocnych darcekov. Konecne som mala cas zacat novu knihu. Snazim sa vychutnat si tiche chvile po veceroch ked uz dieta spi. Tiez som si konecne nasla cas pozriet si znovu Gilmore Girls! najlepsia vec na chladne vecery v pohodlnom pyzame so salkou kakaa.

It was also very relaxing to walk my dog late at night and observe everybody's decorations and what kind of tree they have this year. I love watching other people's Christmas decorations. How about you?

I really enjoyed all the presents that I got from everyone. Although I think the real reason why I enjoyed this Christmas so much was that I wasn't alone and the biggest joy was to watch my family open their presents.

Staying healthy in wintertime

I love autumn and winter. The whole year I can't wait to wear jumpers and turtlenecks and mittens and boots and colorful hats and scarfs... But the part I don't like about these seasons is the flu. In the wintertime we all go through it... it's the flu season and sometimes no matter what you do and how much you wrap up , you still wind up getting it. I've had my share of flus and colds. Here is one thing that helped me to avoid it, Manuka Honey. It's like a little caramel colored miracle in a jar, plus it tastes so good. It helps with the immune system and is even good for skin and hair. Beauty starts on the inside and what you put in your body is the most important for your nourishment . Your skin and hair will thank you for it too.You can eat it plain, put it in drinks, milkshakes or hot porridge or like me even apply it as face mask. Add some omega 3s in your diet like salmon and avocados plus fruits

and veggies and you're set for the cold season.

Mam rada jesen a zimu. Cely rok sa neviem dockat obliect si svetre a rolaky a rukavice a cizmy a farebne ciapky a sale.... Ale vec ktoru na tychto obdobiach rada nemam je chripka. Vsetci tym v chladnych obdobiach prechadzame... je to obdobie chripok a niekedy bez ohladu na to co robite a ako sa obliekate, stale skoncite v posteli. Ja som si chripok aj nadchy uzila dost. Tu je jedna vec ktora mi pomohla vyhnut sa im, Med Manuka. Je to ako maly karamelovy zazrak v kelimku, navyse chuti tak dobre. Posilnuje imunitu a je dobry aj na plet a na vlasy. Krasa zacina zovnutra a co davate dnu je najdolezitejsie pre vyzivu. Vasa plet a vlasy sa vam tiez podakuju. Mozete ho jest samotny, dat ho do caju, kavy, alebo miesanych napojov, ovsenej kase alebo ako ja aj rovno na tvar namiesto masky. Pridajte si do jedalnicka mastne kyseliny omega-3 ako lososa, avokada a viac ovocia a zeleniny a ste pripraveni na chladne obdobie.

Another year...

Another year has gone by so quickly. I really wish I could make the time go slower, at least sometimes. This year's Christmas has been amazing. I love to be surrounded by my family and have all the amazing Christmas food and cookies... ah how I love those winter evenings with the good book and good French chocolates. Now I am just waiting for the snow to start falling finally. With a mug of hot chocolate (or Baileys) and some treats from chocolatier artisanal (in my case from THIL) by the fireplace the only thing missing now are the soft snowflakes behind the window falling down slowly and making everything pure and white. I hope you had a lovely Christmas everyone! Joyeux Noel!

Dalsi rok uplynul prilis rychlo. Naozaj by som si priala spomalit cas, aspon niekedy. Tohtorocne Vianoce boli skvele. Milujem byt obklopena rodinou a mat vsetko to uzastne jedlo a kolaciky... ach ako zboznujem tie zimne vecere s dobrou knihou a dobrymi Francuzskymi cokoladami. Teraz uz len cakam aby zacal konecne padat sneh. So salkou horucej cokolady (alebo Baileys) a zopar pochutkami z obchodu s cokoladou (v mojom pripade z THIL) jedine co mi pri krbe chyba su jemne snehove vlocky za oknom pomaly padajuce meniac vsetko na bielu cistotu. Dufam ze ste vsetci prezili krasne Vianoce! Joyeux Noel!

Me and my dog Micho in France

 

Since I decided to get a little puppy my days here in France have been much brighter. It's amazing how a little dog can make your life all of sudden so much sunnier. He was just a cute little ball of hair  when I first saw him, shaking and scared of the unknown when he left his mum.  Now we are best friends and it's hard for me to imagine my life without him. He became a part of me , my quiet little companion. The walks are all of a sudden a happy thing to do even in the rain and the return back home is always happy.He won my heart with his loving personality the first day I met him.💜

Odkedy som sa rozhodla zadovazit si steniatko moje dni tu vo Francuzsku boli ovela krajsie. Je to neuveritelne ako vam moze male psica rozjasnit zivot.Bol len gulka chlpov ked som ho prvy krat videla, triasol sa a bal sa nepoznaneho ked opustil mamu.Teraz sme najlepsi kamarati a je pre mna tazke predstavit si zivot bez neho.Stal sa mojou sucastou, moj maly tichy spolocnik. Prechadzky su odrazu radostnou cinnostou aj v dazdi a navrat domov je vzdy stastny.Ziskal si moje srdce jeho milujucou povahou uz hned v prvy den ked som ho stretla.💜
